The day after the big town hall meeting organized by Terry at the Phoenix, I met Uma for coffee as she'd agreed. I hadn't told her much; it really wasn't necessary. First of all, with everyone gathered for the big meeting, there wasn't time to pass a private word. And second of all, I was watchful lest some measure of injustice be heaped on Drover. And third of all, I couldn't linger after the meeting ended -- not with Drover waiting for me in my apartment.

From where I'm sitting I can see most of the room. The clientele is a varied lot - men, women. Mostly casually dressed, a fella in a suit is talking to the bartender. I know the type. He's either in control or wants to be. Long haired bloke drags a pretty girl to a table for a chat - I'm thinking the guys in here must be related - there's a strong resemblance in most of their faces although their builds vary quite a bit.

Should be some interesting doings around...

It's funny, really. This mate of mine was blind. He used to take photographs. He took his camera with him everywhere and photographed things he knew were there but couldn't see himself. It was like to prove that things were real even if he couldn't see them with his own eyes... I know that sounds pretty crazy but he had a point in a bizarre way. Even if you can see everything...
