Well, Skinner's out of the picture so that's a resolution in and of itself. Wade took it off him in that big poker game -- Uma and I asked him to win it back for me. So there ya go, right? Too much time and energy wasted on it already, if I do say so myself. Now tell me, when you three get involved in a big case, is it anything like we see on TV? I always thought being a lawyer would be damned difficult -- it's like you can take one section of the Constitution and find a million interpretations in the Courts. How does that not get frustrating?

Wade. She's just launched into another breathy recount of her travails in trying to find just the right dress to wear to last weekend's concert in San
Jose ... He just stares at her -- is it worth having to listen to her just to get into her bed tonight?
Well, maybe. He opens his mouth to change the subject but she's not even looking at him at this point. She's just staring out of the window as she describes the exact color of pink of the dress she finally chose ...] 
[And then, suddenly, he spies something much more interesting entering the Phoenix ... ] 
[Ann and Uma have entered the building -- they head for the bar area. Well, well. Wonder what they're up to? Both dressed so provocatively ... What would it be like if they'd been his dinner companions tonight? Should he find a reason for he and his date to go to the bar when dinner is finished? It would be interesting to observe any tell-tale signs that Ann's beginning to have suspicions about Uma's truthfulness. Will Uma be unnerved to see him? Will she make a mistake if he pushes her just a little bit? The night's just become more interesting...]

<Lachlan is intelligent, funny, and engaging, not taking the entire spotlight, but willing to share and learn as much about the person next to him as he
gives away about himself. He is in the middle of a story about one of his escapades in flight academy when his voice drops away, and he stares over Jack's
head toward the bar. She follows his eyes until they rest on the woman Ann that Richie introduced earlier and her friend- Cullen's wife, the woman who
got burned in that sordid mess. If rumor has it, she's going to get hurt even more when his divorce attorney gets their case into the courtroom. She
shivers a bit- she doesn't envy Mrs. Murphy at all, in fact, she feels sympathy for her, both for the bad way she had to find out about her husband's
infidelities and knowing how it feels to be picked apart by the shark that gives lawyers their reputation. Been there, done that, still wearing the scars...
She starts to rise, muttering to Lachlan that it might be time to go, that she has a case pending that needs a lot of concentration, but Richie's hand
falls to her wrist, staying her. So she waits to see if the other woman makes good on the fury in her face.>

Nearly every male head in the Phoenix turns to catch a glimpse of what shouldn't be hard to find. His head turns too, but his attention is divided,
especially when Uma and Nola lock eyes. At the back of his brain too, is the annoying notion that Nola was up until that moment, fixated on Lachlan. This was
supposed to be a work date, wasn't it?>
