You know, I think I'll give Colin a little ring. On the phone. Just seems right ... excuse me ... I'm just going to step outside and call on my cell
... Cuz I'm a polite sorta gal.

|On her way in, she passes Ann, who is on her way out. She thinks maybe she needs to drop back into the bookshop, now that
it's being remodeled, or give Ann a call and ask her to lunch sometime, but life has a way of knocking a person's plans out of whack. Andy's car
is parked around the side of the building, and she gets a bit of a flutter, then tells herself to knock it off- it was only a hookup. God, she hopes she
didn't come off as an easy lay to him. Some guys you just know you want to be with, some you don't. If you do, you don't let grass grow under
your feet. But that doesn't mean she's going to call him or anything. She's not that easy.|
Hey, Paul! Frosty shot of Jag, when you get a sec. "There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk

Sure, Lil...Ann...where did she go? What's with Ann and O'Brien anyway..? So Wade's vamoosed...pity...He added a certain je ne sais quoi to
proceedings...The man you all love to hate....but secretly fancy. Come on, girls. admit it! Hey, Clarity! My French sure is improving...
Ralph, tell you sis I rathert like her hair. But then I would like Aabutch look wouldn't I? Seeing I'm so manly and all..maybe that isn't so helpful? By the way, Ralph...I love the way you do yours....Can you tell Jeff's away on a job? I'm so antsy biting the bedpost these days and running after Joey alone every waking hour...a mother's lot, hey? So , Lily my love...what you been up to? There's a glow about you today... |

[It's quiet in the kitchen and Andy decides to come to the bar and have a chat with Paul. He's feeling restless, not sure what to do about Lily.
Should he call her? Or maybe she's regretting things the morning after. He's no catch for a girl like her..especially one who used to date a guy like
Cort...If she was interested she would let him know...He is approaching the bar when he sees Lily sipping a Jag at the bar, laughing and talking with Paul and
the others...]
Lily? In the bar? She never even asked for me? There's your answer, mate... [He retreats back into the kitchen and slumps down on a stool...so much for love's young dream...] Everybody lies....but not all the time...

Am I glowing? Must be from the Nevada air. Residual radioactive stuff in the atmosphere. As long as I'm not growing an extra tit, or something. Though...ahem. Never mind! Paul, talk to me about Andy. And that's all I'm going to say about it until you do. "There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk

<Richie takes the chair next to Lily's, but he barely smiles in her direction. He's all business, and business is getting dirtier these days.
But he's hit a snag he can't handle by himself. He needs a modern brain that can get into places in the cyberworld he's not learned to access yet.
Corbett's gag about finding a six-year-old wasn't helpful, and he's not willing to drag Jack any further in than he needs to be at the moment.
Another cop, or someone on the fringes of the good-guy side is what he needs.>
Paul, when you get a chance, give me a Coors, and some of your time. Need a name and some contact information. <Smirks when Paul bats his eyelashes and notes his order> Depends on if you come through for me, baby. Everyone in Jersey's crazy...Cops arrest bad guys.

One Coors coming up. What can I do for you, sir? Maybe we should go talk in private if you want to use my services in a professional capacity? You want to find
a booth and I'll bring it over...?
And Richie...I always come through...you have no idea...baby...[he winks and goes to get the beer...] [Continued in Pauls' thread...] |

Sure...
[Andy hits the wall and mutters; 'Shit!'. He knows Lily's out there. This is going to be so embarrassing...]He wanders out to the bar praying there will be plenty of people to serve. But as luck would have it there's no one waiting - just Lily sitting at the other side r...He tries to pretend he hasn't seen her but it's hopeless. So he decides to brave it out... Hey, Lily, how you doing? Ready for a refill? [he grimaces as he realises the implication of his words, wishing the ground would open and swallow him up... And then he proceeds in making it worse...] Er....I meant another drink...would you like me to give you another? Drink. Another drink....Christ!...[he mutters under his breath...] Everybody lies....but not all the time...

|It all comes so easy when there's a prize at the end of the match, doesn't it? No pun intended. Her first instinct is that he's
uncomfortable with the morning after part of the game, and maybe realizes now that it wasn't what either had maybe hoped it could turn out to be. The
first reaction should be to dish back the clumsy attempt at banter, get in a dig about wanting something hard or straight-up, but instead, she draws back
because it's so much simpler to climb back into her safe little shell and kick herself for diving in so fast. Fortunately, the big guy with the accent and
the blustering attitude saves her...|
Thanks; but I'm okay. I should get home and make sure everything's where it should be before my aunt and uncle get back. Maybe see you around sometime... "There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk

They're back. Your aunt and uncle, I mean. Your Uncle Mike fed me this morning. Decent bloke. I was bloody embarrassed, ya know? Listen, Lily, don't
run off just yet. I got to serve this Pom...I'll be back in a few...
Kathy? She's not been around today. Think she went out for the day with Clarity. Watching whales or something...you want a beer? Everybody lies....but not all the time...

...you want a beer?Said so didn't I, yer deaf-aid! An' don't give me one of them nancy half-measures - I want a full pint! Do you know where they went for this whale-watching lark then? "The sea...? Arsehole." Heard that, sonny. Now how about you give me a straight answer, 'fore I rip your knackers off an' shove them so far up your arse they'll meet your breakfast coming out? |

[Shudders melodramatically as he comes over to freshen Richie's beer...]
...The very thought of it....knackers up your arse...is he trying to give you the come on, Andrew? I'll have you know I'm the gay one, sunshine...and I'm spoken for so go do your cruising somewhere else... ....The whereabouts of my staff is none of your business. If you want to see them, come in here tomorrow and buy some more beer...Andy, don't give any private information out...and give him another pint before he dies of thirst.. |

|Oh shit. They're back already? It's not her style to bring a guy home and sleep with him under Mike's roof, even if she is an adult, but
well...

Fine. Have it your way, Queen Bee.
You won't mind me kipping in one of those booths overnight then, 'cos I am not going ANYWHERE until I've found out what's 'appened to Red an' her mate! |

You just try it, Sunshine....Max is back....Are you giving my staff grief by any chance? This is not Moss Side, Mr. Oik from the north. Talking about my staff. Where exactly are they? O'Gallagher? May I remind you that customers pay to see nubile young women behind the bar, wearing tight blouses and short skirts, with masses of thick hair and preferably red lipstick and stilettoes. While I am fully aware most of those requirements include items of clothing and cosmetics that you wear on a regular basis, I would still prefer it if the afore mentioned absent staff members were of the female persuasion. Sells more beer. Makes me more money.. Do you think you can follow that rationale? And who allowed Chip Pan Andy behind the bar. Oi! Do your flirting on your own time, mate. I do not pay you to get laid....Well, isn't it nice to be back?? Now, where are the barmaids? Do not tell me you gave them both the same night off? Where are your management skills, you idiot? Winning isn't everything - it's the only thing...

Mr. Skinner, sir? You're back, sir? I thought you were staying in London? Not that we aren't delighted to have you home again...sir...As for the girls...I don't know where they are, Mr. Skinner, sir. They were due on at the normal time but never showed. I think you call that AWOL? Not my fault, Mr. Skinner. I will of course chastise them soundly when they return. If they return, that is. They went out on a boat to see some whales and there's a rumour going round they got into difficulties. Not to worry though, the redoubtable Captain Aubrey to the rescue accompanied by those jolly Jack Tars, Nash and Biebe... I'm sure they will be fine. Andy was just helping out. And may I say, that nice young Lily has bought quite a few drinks from him. Sex sells, Mr. Skinner, as you so accurately pointed out. Both ways. Which is why I am such an asset to your business... Okay, Mr. Hunt. Now you know. Kathy is missing in action. How good are you at the front crawl? How was London then Mr. Skinner? Cold, grey and wet, I hope. And may we ask what you have done with Uma? Or is that still a secret? You haven't strangled her and dumped her body in the Thames, have you? Six weeks alone with her might do that to a man... |

I'm here! 'Course Max didn't murder me, silly. He's been a perfect gentleman, haven't you, sweetie pops? [punctuated by kissy noises
that make Paul roll his eyes and Max smirk smugly]
So you need some bar staff? Well, here I am, an experienced hand, and I am wearing a short skirt, as luck would have it. Let me just hop over there and do my thing...what do you think of my threads? Christ, I had forgotten how fabulous shopping in London is...if you're a bloody millionaire, that is? Do you know what this cost me? There is a place you can touch a woman that will drive her crazy. Her heart...
